Gel lead acid batteries need to be charged using Gel Lead Acid Battery Chargers only. These chargers are specifically designed for Gel Cell batteries and their nominal and/or float voltage. A Gel Battery Charger has a slightly lower output charge voltage, as well as a slightly lower float voltage, when compared to a traditional lead acid battery charger. This is a specific charge characteristic required to maximize charge state of gel cell batteries.
